TIME: THE KALIEF BROWDER STORY tells the story of Kalief Browder, a Bronx teenager who was arrested at 16 and spent three years on Rikers Island awaiting trial for the theft of a backpack, much of that time in solitary confinement. Interviews with inmates, prison guards, relatives, experts and Browder himself create a damning picture of the systems that failed him, time and again.
"Time" is an important contribution to the true-crime documentary genre… imbued with a passionate desire to present every important aspect of the injustices done to Browder — and thousands of other men and women like him.”

“The package is deftly assembled, drawing you in… Its depiction of the madness of Rikers, especially in Part 2, is blunt and hard to watch. But the series, commendably, goes much deeper, exploring New York’s stop-and-frisk policy in that period, the bail system and other factors that combined to trap Mr. Browder there.”
